Gruissan salt, the alchemy of preserved nature and ancestral expertise.

"Le sel de Gruissan" is produced, processed, and packaged on a single site in the heart of the "parc Naturel de la Narbonnaise en Méditerranée", where people work to preserve biodiversity.

The "Salin de l'Île Saint Martin", backed by the Clape massif, is located in a geographical area swept by strong northwesterly winds. This promotes sunlight exposure in the region and doubles the daily water evaporation.

These natural conditions make our region a suitable place for the production of high-quality sea salt.

The "Sauniers de Gruissan", with their expertise handed down from generation to generation, perpetuate the production of Gruissan salt on the 400 hectares of our "Salin".

This knowledge enables us to guide the waters through the salt tables to extract an exceptional product as the autumn equinox approaches when the sea salt has reached full maturity.

Our engagements

Neither leached nor processed, Gruissan salt is additive-free and naturally white. The quality of our salt brand is the result of the delicate, hand-harvested Fleur de Sel technique and the specific, high-quality salt harvest.
The salt processing and packaging unit is equipped with photovoltaic panels, a pre-drying and low-temperature dryer that operates autonomously, without the use of fossil fuels.
