Our engagements

Our company policy strategy is focused on the quality of products and services and respect for the environment.

Company policy

Our strategy aims to ensure not only the satisfaction of our customers but also the growth of our business.

Our approach is based on a harmony between human activity and the preservation of nature. We ensure the production of quality salt while coexisting sustainably with the local wildlife and flora.

This approach allows us to maintain sustainable growth while continuing to enhance the exceptional natural heritage in which we operate. Furthermore, every step of our production process is designed to minimize environmental impact and ensure the sustainability of natural resources..

The quality of Gruissan salt

The quality of our salt is the result of an innovative harvesting method that respects the product and its environment. Traditionally, sea salt in the Mediterranean was harvested using machine, which extracted not only the salt but also a fine layer of soil. This then required intensive washing to remove impurities, at the cost of losing many secondary minerals that define the identity of the salt.

Aware of the importance of preserving the natural purity of our salt, we decided to abandon these industrial methods and developed an innovative approach by adapting agricultural machines to our specific needs. By intentionally leaving 1 to 2 cm of salt at the bottom of the basins, we avoid harvesting the soil and do not need to wash the salt. This process, while reducing the amount of salt harvested, allows us to preserve all the natural mineral salts present in the brine.

The harvested product is then transformed by innovative processes implemented: A low-temperature drying, which allows for the preservation of the mineral properties of sea salt, including the precious magnesium.

The fine salt is then finely ground on a granite stone mill, giving it a 100% natural character.

Always in this quest to produce quality products that are good for health, the spices chosen for the flavored salt range are sourced from organic farming.

Respect for the environment

The packaging of our products is also a reflection of our company's values. Nature gives us its energy, which we guide in order to extract one of its main fruits, Salt. We must take great care of it!

To do so, we are engaged in a strong and ongoing CSR approach. We have reduced the plastic in our packaging by 90% (using PEFC certified paper bags, corn starch dispensers, reducing empty space, and promoting 100% French sourcing) and we are utilizing renewable energies to their fullest.

The salt processing and packaging unit is equipped with photovoltaic panels, a pre-drying salt house, and a low-temperature dryer that operates in an energy-autonomous manner, without using fossil fuels. Finally, the materials used in on-site construction have a low carbon impact.

The recognition of Gruissan salts

As a testament to its quality, Gruissan Salt was the first salt in France to be labeled "Parc Naturel Régional" in 2018. It is also labeled "Sud de France" and "Pays Cathare."

Gruissan Salt is the first in France to receive European organic certification. This certification, validated in November 2024, guarantees environmentally friendly production, free from chemicals and harmful industrial processes.

It is also worth noting that Gruissan salt is featured on more than 10 Michelin-starred gourmet tables.

The organic certification guarantees that products are grown or manufactured according to strict standards of organic farming. It promotes sustainable practices, ensures complete traceability, and offers products that are often perceived as healthier and more environmentally friendly.
